find your *bokeh*

on my daily jaunt to the photography section of the Pioneer Woman,
an assignment was issued by Miz Booshay ;)
finding fall bokeh.
in lay terms, bokeh is that fuzzy dreaminess in the background of pictures created
from a shallow depth of field.
for a more technical definition you can visit Wiki, Merriam, or your computer dictionary ;)
i will stick with fuzzy dreaminess!
back to the assignment...YES! this will go with my own personal assignment of finding fall
in my own backyard!!!
so, i dig in my files from last year and find this little gem:

those little circles of love in the background? yep, that is bokeh.
now, it isn't as dreamy as it could be b/c my aperture wasn't very wide.
the wider the aperture (lower number), the more shallow your depth of field becomes.

the specs:
Canon Rebel XT {she's moved on to the hands of another}
Tamron lens f/2.8 @ 42.0mm {she was dropped on the gravel by my husband. i forgive him}
SS: 1/125
ISO: 100
no flash, all manual settings

and by the way...this picture was actually taken in my own backyard!! :D
as Miz Boo would say, "enourage one another"
